Baby Steps

Tonight I pulled the rest of that fake brick off the wall next to the stairs. That's all. Pretty simple. It's all about baby steps. There's a lot of little things I need to get done on the house and I'm trying to get something done every day. Even if it's a little something.

So tonight I took a few hours to scrape the plasticy mortar off the plaster. I also had to spray the wall down with water so I could scrape the wallpaper off the wall that was underneath it too. Messy and time consuming stuff. There's big spots where the plaster is falling off too, so I have to go back and drill some plaster washers in the wall where the plaster's key has broken loose. But scraping and repairing is easier for me than tearing out another plaster wall. Man, I'm so sick of plaster. Even the smell of the dust... yuck.

That's all for tonight. Tomorrow, maybe I'll work on the range hood vent or the dryer vent. I came up with a pretty good idea for sealing their penetrations in the back wall. Hopefully it'll work. One step at a time. Walk before you run. And other such wise words.
